French farmers have entered the grounds of the Ministry of Agriculture in Paris as part of a protest against the trade agreement between the European Union (EU) and the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR).

Farmers believe that the government has not made enough effort to protect the interests of the national agricultural sector. Demonstrators chant slogans against the agreement and support French farmers.
The action took place on the eve of a vote in parliament on motions of no confidence in the government. The opposition accuses the government of condoning the agreement between the European Union and MERCOSUR.
