Armenia does not plan to enter into an arms race with any country, including Azerbaijan. Official Yerevan prefers a balanced approach in line with security needs, not a confrontation line in this matter.
Elchi.az reports that this was stated by the Minister of Defense of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, at a press conference.
According to the minister, not participating in the arms race does not mean that Armenia will not take steps in the field of defense.
He noted that the country will continue to purchase weapons and military equipment, taking into account the needs of its armed forces, as well as modernize existing capabilities.
