The Istanbul Court has granted President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s claim for damages against Ekrem İmamoğlu, the former head of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, who is currently imprisoned.
Elchi.az reports that, according to the court’s decision, E. İmamoğlu will pay R.T. Erdoğan 150 thousand Turkish Lira (6 thousand manats).
It is worth remembering that E. İmamoğlu was accused of using expressions on social media on March 25, 2025, that damaged the personal reputation and professional activities of President R.T. Erdoğan.
Therefore, the head of state demanded 250 thousand lira in material compensation from E. İmamoğlu. (yeni sabah)
