The ecological condition of Baku Bay will be improved.
Elchi.az reports that this is reflected in the “State Program for 2026-2035 on improving water supply, rain and waste water systems in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula”, approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to the State Program, the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, together with the Ministry of Economy, the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, “Azerbaijan Railways” Closed Joint-Stock Company and Baku City Executive Power, should ensure the continuation of construction works in the relevant field in 2026-2027 and the implementation of 50 percent of the work according to the plan. Thus, during this period, the construction of the 28 km Zigh-Hovsan sewage collector and a new pumping station should be carried out.
