In Sumgait, 150 km of drinking water and 180 km of sewage network will be built by 2032.
Elchi.az reports that this is reflected in the “State Program for 2026-2035 on improving water supply, rain and wastewater systems in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula”, approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to the State Program, in 2026-2032, the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, together with the Ministry of Economy, “Azerbaijan Railways” Closed Joint-Stock Company, Azerbaijan Automobile Roads State Agency” public legal entity, “Azerishiq” OJSC, State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, Sumgait City Executive Authority must ensure full water supply to the population and coverage by the wastewater system in the city of Sumgait.
