The Spanish National Police have seized the largest cocaine shipment in the department’s history in the open sea.

Approximately 10 tons of cocaine were discovered on a ship intercepted in the Atlantic Ocean, hidden among a cargo of salt. Police have arrested 13 people and seized firearms. The operation involved the US, Great Britain, and Brazil, among others.
The ship was en route from Brazil to Europe. The investigation, coordinated by the Spanish prosecutor’s office and court, focused on a multinational group. This group is suspected of importing large quantities of cocaine from South America to Europe.
