Rainwater management systems will be established in the flooded areas of the Absheron Peninsula.
Elchi.az reports that this is reflected in the “State Program for 2026-2035 on improving water supply, rain and waste water systems in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula” approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to the State Program, the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, together with the Ministry of Economy, must ensure the identification of flooded areas in the Absheron Peninsula in 2026-2034, the preparation of feasibility studies and project documents, the establishment of a rainwater management system, and the reduction of the number of flooded areas by more than 30 percent.
