Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the Iranian authorities have taken control of the protests in the country.
Elchi.az reports that a piece of the minister’s speech at a meeting with foreign ambassadors, saying “The situation is under control,” was published by Iranian television.
Protests in Iran began in late December 2025 due to the devaluation of the local currency, the Iranian Rial. The main focus of the protests was initially the sharp change in the exchange rate and its impact on their wholesale and retail prices.
