The Iranian government has recognized the fact of protest actions in the country and has entered into dialogue with the demonstrators.
Elchi.az reports that this was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in an interview with Al Jazeera.
“The government has recognized the actions and held talks with representatives of the protesters, President Masoud Pezeshkian met with them,” Araghchi said.
Protests in Iran began at the end of December 2025 due to the devaluation of the local currency – the rial. Initially, the main topic was the sharp change in the exchange rate and its impact on wholesale and retail prices, but later the protest actions in a number of cities of the country turned into clashes with the police. There are dead and injured among both security forces and participants in the riots.
