Yemeni government forces have successfully taken control of military camps in the country’s southern and eastern provinces, including the temporary capital Aden.
Elchi.az reports with reference to the SABA agency that this was stated by Rashad Muhammad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen.
“As the head of state and the supreme commander of the armed forces, I would like to assure you that the operation to hand over military camps in the provinces of Hadramawt and Al-Mahra, in the temporary capital Aden and other liberated regions has been successfully completed,” he said in his address to the people.
Al-Alimi emphasized that these difficult decisions were made not to demonstrate strength, but to protect citizens, the legal status of the state and maintain constitutional foundations.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen noted that the Supreme Military Committee was created in the country under the leadership of the coalition led by Saudi Arabia. “This committee will be responsible for the preparation, equipping and management of all military forces and units.” According to him, this will be necessary if the Houthi rebels from the Ansar Allah movement continue to reject peace initiatives.
