More than two thousand convicts released in Kazakhstan

Kazakh authorities have released more than 2,000 people under an amnesty decree on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the country’s constitution.

Elchi.az reports that the State Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan has released information about this.

It was noted that a total of 11,000 convicts were included in the amnesty decree. Thus, as a result of the investigation of materials related to convicts registered with probation services, 2,888 people, including women and minors, were released from punishment, and the sentences of more than 7,600 convicts were reduced.

At the same time, comprehensive support measures, including employment assistance, social, psychological and advisory support, have been organized for those who have been pardoned.
