The main goal of Russia launching the “Oreshnik” hypersonic missile into Ukrainian territory is not to achieve a military effect, but to send a certain message to the US and Europe.
Elchi.az reports that this was stated by Gerhard Mangott, a Russian expert at the University of Innsbruck in Austria.
According to him, Moscow is dissatisfied with being virtually excluded from the diplomatic negotiations between the US, Ukraine and Europeans in recent weeks, and is particularly outraged by the possible deployment of European troops in Ukraine.
Mangott emphasized that the application of “Oreshnik” should be evaluated in this context.
It should be noted that on the night of January 8-9, the Russian army launched ballistic missile strikes on the city of Lviv, Ukraine.
