The number of archbishops joining the process of renewing the Armenian Church is increasing.

Elchi.az reports that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this on his Telegram account.

According to him, the number of archbishops joining the process of renewing the Armenian Church has reached 16.

It should be noted that some time ago, the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, together with 10 bishops who are opposed to the current Catholicos, announced the creation of a coordination council for the renewal of the Armenian Church.

The document adopted by the council envisages the promotion of reforms in the church, the removal of the current head of the church from office, the election of a temporary leader to replace the Catholicos, the adoption of the church’s charter, and the election of the Catholicos of all Armenians in accordance with the established procedure.
