Trump: I don’t need international law

Trump stated that the limit of the US’s powers in the international arena is “his own morality and his own mind,” adding, “I don’t need international law.”
Elchi.az reports that US President Donald Trump made assessments on many issues from economy to foreign policy in a wide-ranging interview he gave to the New York Times (NYT) in the Oval Office.
In the interview, Trump emphasized his country’s national interests and made surprising statements about whether the US will act in accordance with international law.
When asked if there are any restrictions on his global powers, the US President said, “Yes, there is one thing; my own morality, my own mind. That’s the only thing that can stop me. I don’t need international law.”
Saying that his goal is not to harm people or other countries, Trump stated that they decide whether to adhere to these principles depending on how international law is defined.
When asked if his administration will abide by international law, he replied, “We abide by it.” Trump made it clear in his answer that when there are international legal cases that limit the US, “he will be the decision maker.”
