Delsi Rodriguez, who assumed the position of interim president of Venezuela, said regarding the US military intervention targeting President Nicolas Maduro and his wife: “We are loyal to the kidnapped President Nicolas Maduro.”
Elchi.az reports that Rodriguez spoke at a rank promotion ceremony broadcast live on the state channel VTV at the Eclectic Monument of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) Military Academy.
Regarding the attack targeting his country by the US, Rodriguez said: “We are loyal to the kidnapped President Nicolas Maduro. Likewise, our loyalty is complete to the first fighter and member of parliament, Silia Flores. We are determined to fight relentlessly until we see their freedom restored and they return to their homes and homeland.”
Addressing the American people, Rodriguez said: “We are here to express our respect for the noble men and women who lost their lives in this cowardly attack. The Venezuelan people never imagined that they would be victims of such an attack. I say to the American people: The Venezuelan people did not deserve this vile and aggressive attack, this attack carried out by a nuclear power. This event will remain a stain on our relations and our history.”
Emphasizing that no one surrendered during the US military intervention, Rodriguez continued: “No one surrendered here, there was a battle here and this battle was for this country. This was a battle for Simon Bolivar, Hugo Chavez, who fought for freedom, and here for Venezuela. This is our greatest satisfaction.”
