The US is conducting an operation in the Caribbean region, off the coast of Trinidad and Tobago, to seize the Olina tanker.
Elchi.az reports that Reuters news agency wrote about this, citing an American official who wished to remain anonymous.
“According to reports, the US is currently in the process of seizing the Olina tanker in the Caribbean region near Trinidad and Tobago,” the source told reporters.
According to him, the ship departed from Venezuela.
According to the Vesselfinder website, which is used to track ships, it is an oil tanker. The ship is under sanctions from the US, the European Union and Great Britain and is currently sailing under an unknown flag. In 2025, the ship operated under the flag of Sao Tome and Principe.
