According to the information, the strikes were carried out as a response measure after an attempted rocket fire from the Palestinian enclave towards Israel was recorded on January 8. At that time, the army stated that a projectile was fired towards Israeli territory, but it fell within the Gaza Strip before reaching the border.
According to the current statement of the military, in response to this, a number of objects belonging to armed radicals belonging to the Palestinian HAMAS movement and its military infrastructure were precisely struck.
“During the strikes, the Israeli Defense Forces and the General Security Service targeted several Hamas terrorists, rocket launchers, and other terrorist infrastructure,” the statement said.
According to the Israeli side, the attempted launch of a single projectile from the Gaza Strip is a “violation of the ceasefire agreement.”
“The Israeli Defense Forces and the General Security Service condemn any violation of the agreement and will continue to take measures to prevent attempts by terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip to attack the Israeli army and civilians,” the report said.
