Hungarian Ambassador to Warsaw summoned to Polish Foreign Ministry

Hungary’s ambassador to Warsaw, Istvan Iydarto, has been summoned to the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in connection with the country’s granting of asylum to two Polish citizens.

Elchi.az reports with reference to the Straits Times that this information was announced on Friday by the spokesman of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Matsey Vevior.

The VSquare news website reported yesterday that the Hungarian delegation in Brussels sent a letter to representatives of other countries stating that asylum had been granted to two Polish citizens.

The letter published in the Polish press did not mention the names of the persons to whom Hungary granted asylum or the reasons for this step.

M.Vevior stated that Warsaw will express its protest to the Hungarian ambassador because of this step. The reason for such a sharp reaction of the Polish authorities to this decision was not given.
