Trump Approves Sanctions Bill Against Russia

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham announced on Wednesday that U.S. President Donald Trump has approved a bill that would impose sanctions for the purchase of cheap Russian oil.
Elchi.az reports that Senator Graham made the announcement on a U.S.-based company’s social media account after meeting with Trump.
Graham stated that “After a very productive meeting, (Trump) approved the bipartisan Russia sanctions bill that Senator Blumenthal and many others and I have been working on for months.”
Noting that the bill would allow Trump to “punish countries that buy cheap Russian oil,” Graham added that the bill coincided with a period when “Ukraine is making concessions for peace” and that “The timing is perfect.”
Graham further noted that “This bill will give President Trump great leverage over countries like China, India, and Brazil, encouraging them to stop buying cheap Russian oil that is financing Moscow during the Russia-Ukraine war.”
U.S. media reported that the bill will be put to a vote in the Senate next week.
