Human remains dating back approximately 773,000 years ago have been discovered in a cave near the city of Casablanca, Morocco.
Elchi.az reports that the Moroccan Ministry of Culture stated that the human remains discovered in Casablanca provide unprecedented information about a critical period in human evolution.
The statement said that among the remains of human ancestors found in the Thomas 1 quarry near Casablanca are several adult and child jawbones, tooth fragments, and postcranial fragments. The ministry’s statement added that thanks to detailed analyses, these artifacts, which can be dated to approximately 773,000 years ago, strengthen Morocco’s and North Africa’s position in understanding the deep roots of human history.
