“Razi Nurullayev held a simple wedding for his child like everyone else” – Qudrat Hasanquliyev

Qudrat Hasanquliyev, Chairman of the Justice, Law and Democracy (JLD) Party, Member of Parliament, gave an interview to Elchi.az.

We present that interview:

-Qudrat bey, your fellow deputy Razi Nurullayev held a magnificent wedding for his nephew in Dubai, which caused widespread public discussion. What is your attitude to this issue?

-Razi Nurullayev speaks in parliament and in the media about many problems that, if resolved, will lead to citizen satisfaction and increase the authority of the government. Unfortunately, those who go out in “search of justice” do not open public discussions about any of those issues. Razi Nurullayev held a simple wedding for his child like everyone else. His brother, apparently, took into account Razi bey’s position and held the wedding in Dubai, not in Baku. It would have been better if he had done it in Baku, our entrepreneurs would have earned that money. A person has been in business for decades. He held a lavish wedding for his son with the money he earned honestly. What is there to condemn here? Such magnificent weddings take place even in the most developed countries of the world. At the same time, Razi bey did not commit a crime to face moral condemnation.

-There were even those who accused him of “some” connections with Russia. What do you think about this?

-Razi bey is a patriotic person. Although he has had unsuccessful speeches under stress (in any case, this is my assessment), most of the issues he raises meet national and state interests, and this further confirms his patriotism. There are very few people in Azerbaijan who do not have relatives, friends, or acquaintances in Russia. Including representatives of the government. Living, studying, or working in Russia cannot raise doubts about that person’s patriotism. On the contrary, life shows that they see many things and become more patriotic. Only biased people can take such a position. He touches on the interests of some people with the issues he raises, and those people now think that they have an opportunity. This black PR campaign can confuse a few dilettantes.

-Qudrat bey, what are your thoughts on wedding parties and funeral ceremonies?

-If someone holds a very lavish wedding in a poor country, this, of course, can create some condemnation. As for funeral ceremonies, I think that if a person passes away, his relatives and friends should gather and offer their condolences once. At this time, a tea table can be opened as a charity. The 40th day and anniversary ceremonies should be held by the family. I hope that this issue will be resolved in time.
