We hope that Cyprus will help Ukraine on its path to integration into the organization during its presidency of the European Union.
According to Elchi.az, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this at the opening ceremony of Cyprus’ presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU) in Nicosia.
“We hope for Cyprus’ support in accelerating Ukraine’s accession to the EU,” Zelensky emphasized.
According to him, Ukraine’s negotiations with European partners and the United States have reached a new stage, and the Russia-Ukraine war may end during Cyprus’ presidency of the EU Council.
Zelensky noted the importance of strengthening sanctions against Russia and continuing support for Ukraine.
“A new package is being prepared, many steps are being taken to strike at Russia’s ‘shadow fleet’,” the Ukrainian leader said.
