The US Southern Command has reported the seizure of another tanker named “Sophia” in the Caribbean waters.
Elchi.az reports that this was stated in the command’s message on the social network “X”.
“This morning, during the operation, the US Department of Defense, in coordination with the Department of Homeland Security, seized a sanctioned tanker of the shadow fleet,” the post said.
According to the command, the seized “Sophia” vessel was operating illegally in the Caribbean Sea and did not belong to any state.
“The Coast Guard is escorting the “Sophia” tanker to the US for a final decision,” the statement said.
It should be reminded that the US today seized the Russian tanker “Marinera” near Iceland seized.
