The US should not prevent the speedy return of Russians on the detained ship called “Marinera” to their homeland.
Elchi.az reports that this was stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (MFA).
“Taking into account the information about the presence of Russian citizens among the crew members, we demand that the US side treat them humanely and with dignity, respect their rights and interests, and also not prevent their speedy return to their homeland,” the agency said.
It is noted that official Moscow is closely monitoring reports of the US military seizing the “Marinera” ship sailing under the Russian flag.
It should be reminded that on January 4, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said during his speech on the Fox News TV channel that his country will continue to detain oil tankers carrying Venezuelan oil and strike at boats used in drug trafficking.
