The US State Department has announced the creation of a “joint communication mechanism” between Israel and Syria.
Elchi.az reports that the US State Department has issued a written statement regarding the agreement signed by the US, Israel and Syria. The statement noted that senior officials from Israel and Syria met in Paris under US auspices to discuss issues related to relations between the two countries.
The joint statement reads: “In this context, the two countries have decided to establish a joint communication mechanism to facilitate urgent and sustained coordination under US auspices on intelligence sharing, military de-escalation, diplomatic relations and trade opportunities. This mechanism will serve as a platform to immediately resolve any disagreements and prevent misunderstandings. This joint statement reflects the spirit of this important meeting and the commitment of the parties to open a new chapter in their relations for the benefit of future generations.”
