UEFA Champions League-winning futsal player dies at 32

Brazilian Aleks Felipe, a member of the Russian futsal team “Norilskiy Nikel”, has died at the age of 32.

Elchi.az reports that the press service of the Russian Football Union has released information about this.

“Norilskiy Nikel” played its first away match against “Ukhta” in the semi-final stage of the Russian Cup today. Aleks Felipe also participated in that match, which ended in a 2:2 draw.

The club said in a statement that the futsal player suddenly fell ill and died while at the airport after the match.

The team’s management expressed their deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.

It should be noted that Aleks Felipe had been playing for “Norilskiy Nikel” since 2020. Together with the club, he won the Russian Cup in the 2023/2024 season, was a finalist in the 2024/2025 season, and also won silver (2022/2023) and bronze (2020/2021, 2021/2022) medals in the national championship.

Prior to that, Felipe played for a number of Brazilian clubs and the Portuguese team “Sporting”. As part of “Sporting”, he won the Champions League in the 2018/2019 season.
