US President Donald Trump has stated that they were aware of the operation to capture Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro in Caracas.
According to Elchi.az, referring to foreign media, Trump said this during a meeting with Republican congressmen at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
“The United States has once again proven that it has the most powerful and mighty army on the planet,” – Trump said.
He added that he regretted the deaths of many American soldiers during the attack on Venezuela.
The US leader also called Maduro a “cruel man.”
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro appeared in a New York court on January 5. At the trial, he pleaded not guilty and stated that he is still the president of his country. The US court agreed to allow Venezuelan consular staff to visit him. The judge announced that the next hearing would be held on March 17.
Trump announced on January 3 that the US had launched a successful large-scale strike against Venezuela. He noted that the President of the Bolivarian Republic, Nicolas Maduro, and his wife, Cilia Flores, were arrested and removed from the country.
