The foggy weather conditions currently observed in some parts of the country drastically reduce visibility and increase the risk of traffic accidents.
Elchi.az reports that the Main State Traffic Police Department (MSTPD) has warned drivers about this.
It was stated that in this situation, the careful and responsible behavior of both drivers and pedestrians is vital.
Drivers are advised to:
• Before starting to drive, check the serviceability of fog lights and main lighting systems;
• Choose a speed limit appropriate to the visibility distance, avoid sudden maneuvers and overtaking;
• Maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front;
• If not necessary, postpone trips in foggy weather conditions;
• Use hazard lights and warning signs when stopping or in an accident.
Pedestrians are advised to:
• Cross the road only at designated pedestrian crossings;
• In dark and foggy weather conditions, prefer light or reflective clothing;
• Avoid suddenly entering the roadway;
• Remember that it is difficult for the driver to see you in time in foggy weather.
