Syria and Israel have agreed to create a mechanism for intelligence sharing, de-escalation, and diplomatic cooperation.
Elchi.az reports that this was stated in a statement released by the State Department’s press service following the latest Israeli-Syrian talks in Paris mediated by the United States.
The document emphasizes that the parties reaffirmed their commitment to lasting security and stability agreements. The parties have agreed to establish a joint coordination mechanism under the auspices of the United States to ensure immediate and continuous cooperation on intelligence sharing, de-escalation, diplomatic relations, and trade opportunities.
The statement also noted that this mechanism will serve as a platform for the prompt resolution of any disputes and the prevention of misunderstandings. Washington has stated that it welcomes these positive steps and remains committed to supporting the implementation of these agreements as part of broader efforts to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East.
