Swiss company “Nestle” has announced the recall of several batches of baby food, including SMA, BEBA and NAN formulas, from 25 countries due to the possibility of a toxin that causes nausea and vomiting.
Elchi.az reports that Reuters reported this with reference to the company’s statement.
According to the information, the recall also covered batches in Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Finland, France and Switzerland. The company warned that the food mixtures may contain the toxin “cereulide” produced by “Bacillus cereus” bacteria. However, “Nestle” stated that no infection or symptoms related to the recalled products have been confirmed so far.
According to the Austrian Ministry of Health, the recall covered more than 800 products manufactured in more than 10 “Nestle” factories. According to the agency’s assessment, this is the largest product recall in the company’s history.
