Greenland’s Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen said that they want to continue the dialogue with the USA through “proper channels”.
Elchi.az reports that Nielsen held a press conference in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, after US President Donald Trump’s statement that “We need Greenland for our national security”.
Stating that they are facing a special situation, Nielsen said: “Considering the recent events, public concern is understandable, but there is no need for it. Greenland is trying to continue the dialogue with the USA through “proper channels”. We intend to maintain the trust and cooperation that has existed with the USA for many years.”
Jens-Frederik Nielsen emphasized that they need to act together with both the society and the allies, and also emphasized that they want to expand cooperation with NATO.
