G7 finance ministers to discuss rare earth metals supply in Washington

Finance ministers from the Group of Seven (G7) countries will discuss the supply of rare earth metals in Washington on January 12.

Elchi.az reports that sources told Reuters.

According to the information, the topics of discussion will include the establishment of minimum prices for rare earth metals and other issues related to critical minerals.

The discussion on minimum prices started last year. The goal is to make investment in critical minerals outside of China economically viable. Last year, the United States became the first country to set a minimum price in a contract for the supply of rare earth metals domestically.
