France, Great Britain, and Turkey intend to support the proposal to deploy peacekeeping forces in Ukraine at the “Coalition of the Willing” summit, with possible logistical and intelligence support from the United States.
Elchi.az reports that this was reported by the AFP agency, citing the draft declaration it obtained.
According to the project, Washington will support European forces in the event of an attack by Russia and monitor the ceasefire.
“Kyiv’s European allies believe that in the event of a Russian attack after a possible ceasefire, the peacekeeping contingent will benefit from the US commitment to support Ukraine,” the report said.
The composition of these forces may range from 15,000 to 20,000 soldiers, perhaps even 30,000. The main forces will be provided by France and Great Britain, while Turkey will take over ensuring security in the Black Sea. The majority of the forces will be stationed in western Ukraine.
According to the agency, about 30 leaders gathered at the Elysee Palace may declare their readiness to provide Ukraine with guarantees provided by political and legal agreements that will be activated after the ceasefire agreement with Russia enters into force.
