Colombia calls for UN Security Council meeting on Venezuela

Colombia has called for an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council regarding the US aggression against Venezuela, and has also initiated emergency consultations at the regional level.

According to Elchi.az, this was announced by Anci Rodriguez, Director of the Administrative Department of the Colombian Presidential Administration.

According to her, Bogota has applied for an urgent meeting of the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS), as well as a meeting of the foreign ministers of the member countries of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), which is currently chaired by Colombia.

“Colombia called a meeting of the UN Security Council on Monday. A request was also sent for an extraordinary meeting of the OAS Permanent Council and a meeting of the foreign ministers of the CELAC countries,” Rodriguez said at a press conference after a Security Council meeting in Cucuta, Colombia.
