Trump’s promise to end the Ukraine war in 24 hours failed

US President Donald Trump has stated at least 83 times before the elections that he would end the conflict in Ukraine within 24 hours.

Elchi.az reports that this was reported by The New York Times (NYT).

Tramp said during a speech in Washington in June 2023 that resolving the conflict in Ukraine is easier compared to other issues and that he could resolve it within 24 hours.

On December 28, 2025, Donald Trump had a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin. He then met with Volodymyr Zelenskyy at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. Although Kyiv and Washington declared that the plan was in its final stages based on the results of the meeting, the conflict has not yet ended.

A year has passed since Trump was sworn in as President on January 20. However, before that – on January 14, he abandoned his previous promise to end the Ukraine war in 24 hours.

Currently, one of the most complex issues in resolving the conflict remains territorial issues. At the same time, according to recent statements, agreements on security guarantees for Ukraine are almost complete.
