Securing Yemen’s Hadramaut Valley

Yemeni government forces, as part of the “Shield of the Nation” operation, have fully secured the Hadramaut Valley in the east of the country, taking control of key military bases and civilian facilities.

Elchi.az reports that this was announced by the governor of the province, Salem al-Khanbashi.

The governor stated that the operation to secure military camps in the El-Wadi and Es-Sahra regions was fully successful. Government troops have been deployed in all strategic positions, and the international Seyyun airport and state facilities, as well as life support infrastructure, are fully protected.

Al Arabiya reports that the “Shield of the Nation” units have also secured control over the Republican Palace and the headquarters of the First Military District in Seyyun. The governor said that if separatists supported by the Southern Transitional Council (STC) try to advance from the El-Qubar camp to the port city of El-Mukalla, government forces have asked the Saudi-led coalition to destroy them. At the same time, a withdrawal corridor was opened for separatist forces from the Hadramaut and El-Mahra regions towards the Shabwa province.
