Two oil tankers have sent distress signals in the Sea of Marmara near Istanbul.
Elchi.az reports with reference to TRT Haber that rescue boats have been sent to help them.
According to him, the signals came from ships sailing under the Azerbaijani and Turkish flags. They are located in the Florya region.
The Turkish Ministry of Transport said that the 141-meter “Kalbajar” and the 115-meter “Alatepe” tankers collided near the Küçükmece anchorage. TRT Haber, citing the ministry, reports that emergency teams and a tugboat have been sent to the scene.
Istanbul authorities had previously issued a storm warning due to strong winds in the Sea of Marmara.
