Zelensky: 85 percent of Ukrainians oppose the withdrawal of troops from Donbas

Ukrainians want peace, but the majority of the population does not want it at the expense of Donbas.

Elchi.az reports that this was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with Fox News.

He emphasized that Ukrainians are tired of the war, but are not ready to compromise that threatens national security: “People want peace. Today, Trump said that he saw the results of the polls, according to them, 85% or even 87% want peace. This is our life. 87% support peace. At the same time, 85% are against withdrawal from Donbas. This means that everyone wants peace, but a fair peace.”

Zelensky added that withdrawal from Donbas is the worst-case scenario and all parties in the negotiations should understand this. According to him, this step poses a serious risk for Ukraine and will be unacceptable to the country’s citizens.
