North Korea is reported to have fired long-range strategic cruise missiles into the sea to test the combat readiness and attack capabilities of its military forces.
Elchi.az reports that, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), North Korea’s state news agency, the training was conducted to verify fire procedures, test maneuverability, and assess the reliability of the missile system, described as a “key strategic weapon system.”
The report said the missiles successfully hit their targets over the West Sea along predetermined routes.
North Korean leader Kim Chen In personally led the training and expressed “great satisfaction” with the results.
The report also said that Kim stressed that regularly testing North Korea’s nuclear deterrent capability is part of its right to self-defense against security threats and reiterated its commitment to continue developing nuclear capabilities.
