The head of the Central Bank of Iran, Mohammad Farzin, has resigned amid a significant weakening of the national currency.
Elchi.az reports that Mohammad Mehdi Tabatabai, Deputy for Public Relations of the Presidential Administration, said that the President of the Islamic Republic, Masud Pezeshkyan, is likely to accept his statement.
“The head of the Central Bank has resigned and the president may accept it,” Nour News quoted him as saying.
