Excise taxes on tobacco products will be increased from next year.
Elchi.az reports that this is reflected in the amendment to the Tax Code approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
The excise rate for products intended for inhalation without ignition, containing tobacco or reconstituted tobacco, is increased from 16 manats to 25.5 manats per thousand for local production and import. The excise rate for other smoking tobaccos, homogenized or reconstituted, chewing or snuff tobaccos, excluding tobaccos for production purposes, is increased from 22 manats to 162 manats per kilogram for local production, and from 30 manats to 170 manats for import.
